Can’t have yummy, salty, crispy french fries baked in the oven? False. These are all of those things and more – the more being a huge flavor boost from garlic fresh cilantro. French fry bliss if you ask me. The trick is getting the right kind of potatoes, cutting them nice and thin, then roasting them until they’re browned and crisp. The kids loved them, I loved them, and our company loved them. We ran out. Not a one left on the pan. I’d rather have these than the ones at the fast food place any day of the week.

Baked Garlic-Cilantro Fries

Adapted from [The Talking Kitchen|http://thetalkingkitchen.com/baked-garlic-cilantro-fries/]

  • 5-6 Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into thin fries
  • 2T olive oil
  • 1/2t garlic powder
  • 3/4t sea salt, possibly more to sprinkle on afterward
  • pepper
  • 1/4c cilantro, finely chopped

Preheat oven to 425. Pat the fries dry with paper towels, then toss in a bowl with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Lay on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Roast for 10-15 minutes, flip, and roast another 10-15 minutes or until fries are golden and crispy. I did mine for a total of 35 minutes, but it will depend on your oven and how thin you cut your fries.

Toss hot fries in fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.
