Can you believe it’s already October?! It’s time for corn mazes and hay rides, pumpkin patches and Halloween costumes. To celebrate, I have for you one deliciously easy and highly addictive autumn snack: Pumpkin Spice Pretzels with White Chocolate Drizzle.

Next time you’re at the store, pick yourself up a bag of bite-sized pretzels. I’m really fond of the square ones for holding all the cinnamon sugary white chocolate yumminess, but the standard pretzel shape will also work. Also pull out your trusty batch of Pumpkin Pie Spice. You’ll have a salty-sweet October-spiced goodie in your belly in no time. If you can stop yourself from eating the whole batch, this stores beautifully and makes a great gift. (psst… change up the sprinkles for any season… I hear jingle bells in the distance).

Adapted from [Your Cup of Cake|http://www.yourcupofcake.com/2011/02/white-chocolate-cinnamon-pretzels.html]

  • 1 (15oz) bag bite-sized pretzels
  • 1/2c canola oil
  • 1/3c sugar
  • 2t [pumpkin pie spice|http://alaskascratch.wpengine.com/2012/09/21/pumpkin-pie-spice-mix/]
  • 1/4c cinnamon sugar
  • 1c white chocolate chips
  • sprinkles (optional, but very fun and festive)

Set aside two large baking sheets.

Into a large microwave-safe bowl, pour the pretzels.

In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice until well combined. Drizzle mixture over pretzels and toss to coat.

Microwave the pretzels for 60 seconds. Stir well and microwave again, another 45 seconds. Pour the pretzels out onto two large baking sheets. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar while still hot.

Melt the white chocolate (over low heat or in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring each time, being careful not to burn). Drizzle white chocolate over the pretzels. Then, sprinkle the pretzels with sprinkles, if using.

Allow white chocolate to set and cool completely. Break apart and store in bags or airtight containers.
