I know December is the time people start busting out the boxes of smoked salmon. Here in Alaska, we enjoy it yearlong. This is my Alaskan version of bagels and lox – a toasty bagel, cream cheese, wild Alaskan smoked salmon (homemade), green onions, and a generous amount of lemon squeezed over top. Salmon perfection. Great for breakfast, lunch, snack, light dinner, basically anytime. If that wasn’t convincing enough, it’s quick and easy, too. Sold.

Smoked Salmon Bagel

  • Bagels, plain or everything variety preferred, sliced and toasted
  • Cream cheese
  • Green Onions
  • Smoked Salmon, your favorite variety (I used homemade)
  • Lemon wedges

Spread an even layer of cream cheese onto each toasted bagel. Top with pieces or slices of smoked salmon, evenly distributed. Sprinkle generously with green onions. Squeeze lemon over top. Serve.
